This American IPA offers a vibrant, botanical-forward experience. Fermented with Kveik yeast, it displays a distinct stone fruit and citrus ester profile that seamlessly integrates with bright orange additions. The aroma is remarkably complex, featuring the earthy, pungent warmth of turmeric alongside the unique anise-like herbal punch of Thai Basil. Bold hop bitterness provides a firm structural backbone, while a clean, lean malt bill allows the exotic ingredients to dominate the palate. It finishes dry and crisp with a lingering interplay of resinous hops, peppery spice, and sweet citrus zest, making for a sophisticated and adventurous sensory journey.
Appearance. Medium gold to light amber (approx. 8-10 SRM) with a slight, characteristic haze from the turmeric and kveik yeast. Features a medium-sized, persistent off-white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aroma featuring prominent orange zest and tropical esters. Distinct earthy, spicy turmeric notes are layered with an herbal, peppery character reminiscent of Thai Basil. Low, clean, bready malt supports a background of citrusy and resinous hop notes.
Taste. Initial burst of orange and pungent herbs. Low to medium-low grainy maltiness is quickly overtaken by medium-high hop bitterness and the spicy, earthy depth of turmeric. The Thai Basil provides a unique licorice-like herbal middle. Fermentation is mostly clean with light orchard fruit esters. Finishes dry and hoppy with a lingering botanical aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a crisp, refreshing bite. Very light, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated.
