LUSH Hazy Pale is a modern, approachable American Pale Ale that highlights a vibrant blend of Sabro, Waimea, and Nectaron hops. This combination creates a sensory profile defined by a lush tropical and stone fruit salad, featuring notes of coconut, pineapple, and nectarine. The use of oats and wheat in the grist provides a soft, rounded foundation for these aromatic hops to shine without being overshadowed by malt. While the hop character is intense and juicy, the 4.4% ABV ensures it remains highly drinkable and sessionable, finishing with a clean, gentle bitterness that invites another sip.
Appearance. Pale straw to light gold (4–6 SRM). Features a moderately large, creamy white head with good retention and lacing. The beer is distinctly hazy to opaque, a result of the high protein content from oats and wheat.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring pronounced tropical fruit, specifically coconut and pineapple from the Sabro, alongside stone fruit notes of peach and nectarine from Nectaron. Low grainy-sweet maltiness provides a neutral backdrop. Clean fermentation profile with no significant yeast esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit and juicy citrus. Hop flavors of pineapple, stone fruit, and a hint of lime from the Waimea hops dominate. Low bready malt flavor. Moderate hop bitterness provides sufficient balance without being harsh or lingering excessively. The finish is medium-dry and clean.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a soft, slightly creamy texture derived from the oat and wheat additions. Moderate carbonation. No perceived alcohol warmth. Smooth and refreshing without any hop-derived astringency.
