Shoot To Thrill is a formidable collaboration between Counterpart and Blood Brothers, pushing the boundaries of the Double IPA style. This hazy, 10% ABV powerhouse utilizes Freestyle Mega Terps and Phantasm to deliver an explosive sensory experience. New Zealand hops, including Motueka, Southern Cross, and Rakau, drive an intense tropical profile of guava, lychee, and papaya. This is balanced by vibrant notes of lemon candy, nectarine, and a distinct Sauvignon Blanc character. A full, creamy mouthfeel and deliberate juice-like sweetness support the high alcohol, resulting in a complex, fruit-forward profile that remains surprisingly smooth despite its significant strength.
Appearance. Opaque, glowing light orange (7–9 SRM) with a thick, long-lasting, creamy white head that leaves dense lacing.
Aroma. High intensity with a saturated hop profile of nectarine, lychee, and guava. Clean, low grainy malt serves as a backdrop to a floral and citrus-driven bouquet with a faint white wine character.
Taste. Initial impression is of intense tropical fruit juice, featuring papaya and nectarine. The hop flavor is complex, showcasing Motueka-driven lemon and Southern Cross-derived spice. A moderate-high bitterness is present but softened by a significant residual sweetness and a smooth, clean alcohol presence. The finish is lingering and fruity.
