This complex blend of a rye wine and an Imperial Stout delivers a decadent sensory journey shaped by two years in Heaven Hill and Wild Turkey barrels. An intense mahogany-to-black pour reveals layered aromas of bittersweet chocolate, toasted rye, and oaky vanilla. The addition of Ancho, Mulato, and Pasilla Negro chilis imparts nuanced notes of dried raisins, plum, and a gentle, earthy spice rather than sharp heat. On the palate, rich cocoa and caramel from the malts meet a velvety, full-bodied texture, finished with a lingering warmth from the 11% alcohol and a subtle, smoky chili resonance.

Appearance. Opaque jet black (40 SRM) with a thick, creamy, dark tan head. High viscosity is apparent through slow-moving legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity; rich dark chocolate and espresso roast are layered with spicy rye grain and bourbon-soaked oak. Deep esters of fig and prune meld with the leathery, dried-fruit character of the chilis, accented by vanilla and caramel.

Taste. Intense initial impression of cocoa, molasses, and charred malt. The rye adds a peppery complexity that balances the bourbon-heavy vanilla and coconut notes from the barrels. Chilis provide flavors of dark fruit and mild tobacco without aggressive capsaicin heat. Firm bitterness balances the malt sweetness, leading to a long, warming, vinous finish.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is moderate-low, and a smooth, noticeable alcohol warmth coats the throat without being sharp.
