CoolHead Brew 900 Days is a masterfully matured English Barley Wine, blending a rich malt backbone with the spicy complexity of rye wine. Having rested for nearly three years in Wild Turkey and Heaven Hills bourbon barrels, the profile is exceptionally deep, exuding notes of aged sherry, vanilla, and charred oak. The addition of light roasted coffee from Lykke Helsinki introduces an unexpected dimension of bright berry acidity and stone fruit rather than traditional roasted bitterness. This extended aging rounds the 10% ABV into a smooth, warming nectar, where layers of toffee and dark fruit harmonize with a distinct vinous character and lingering barrel spice.

Appearance. Deep mahogany with ruby highlights; clear and brilliant due to extended aging. Low, creamy tan head with poor retention; high viscosity is evident through thick legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity with a complex malt profile of caramel, toffee, and dark bread. Significant vinous and port-like oxidation is present from the 900-day maturation. Distinctive spicy rye notes mingle with bourbon-derived vanilla and oak. The light roast coffee adds floral and red berry aromatics rather than heavy roast.

Taste. Initial rich, malty sweetness of toffee and treacle followed by a mid-palate of dried plums and peppery rye spice. The bourbon barrel influence from Wild Turkey and Heaven Hills provides layers of coconut and vanilla. The coffee contributes a subtle fruity brightness. Finishes moderately sweet and warming with low hop bitterness and a complex, lingering vinous aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally chewy with a luscious, velvety texture. Carbonation is low. A significant, smooth alcohol warmth is present but remains soft and well-integrated without any harsh burn.
