A blend of Mount Hood, Challenger, and Golding hops provides classic floral, earthy, and spicy-peppery notes, while the addition of Amarillo introduces a vibrant citrus-orange brightness. This English IPA is defined by a crisp, sharp character and a pronounced bitterness that lingers elegantly on the palate. Refreshing and well-attenuated, it captures the essence of a modern, highly-hopped ale while maintaining the balanced structure typical of its style.
Appearance. Golden to deep amber (approx. 8–10 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Features a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head that leaves consistent lacing.
Aroma. Moderately high hop intensity featuring floral and spicy-peppery notes from Challenger and Golding, alongside distinct citrus-orange from Amarillo. The malt profile is medium-low, presenting bready and lightly toasty Maris Otter character with low fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is of sharp, assertive hop bitterness supported by a bready and biscuity malt flavor. The hop profile echoes the aroma with layers of orange peel, spice, and earthiness. Finishes very dry and crisp with a lingering, clean bitterness that remains smooth rather than harsh.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light to medium body with a smooth texture. Carbonation is medium-high, enhancing the crisp sensation and dry finish. A subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but restrained.
