Synesthesia is a vibrant Double IPA that showcases a multifaceted hop profile driven by Ariana, Citra, and Simcoe. On the nose, Citra provides a bright explosion of grapefruit and mango, while Simcoe adds a contrasting layer of resinous pine and passionfruit. The addition of Ariana introduces unique nuances of blackberry and blackcurrant, elevating the aromatic complexity beyond standard citrus. The palate is defined by a firm bitterness that cuts through a lean, cracker-like malt base, finishing remarkably dry for its 8.1% ABV. Clean and potent, this ale balances its high hop saturation with a smooth, warming finish that highlights modern hop breeding.

Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (6-8 SRM). Maintains a moderate-sized, persistent white head with fine lacing. Clarity is good to brilliant, though a very faint hop haze may be present from extensive dry hopping.

Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring heavy citrus (grapefruit), tropical fruit (mango, passionfruit), and distinct dark berry notes (currant). A supporting clean, neutral malt scent stays in the background, complemented by a light resinous pine. Fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters.

Taste. Initial impression is an intense hop saturation. Prominent flavors of mango and lime follow, merging into a mid-palate of piney resin and herbal berry. Bitterness is high but smooth, not harsh. Malt flavor is low, providing a soft, bready support. The finish is dry and crisp with a long-lingering, hoppy, and resinous aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is medium-high. A subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but remains smooth and restrained. No significant hop-derived astringency.
