This formidable Imperial Stout delivers a deep, earth-driven sensory experience. It opens with an intense bouquet of Dabov Specialty Coffee, highlighting the bright acidity of Kenyan Arabica and the nutty base of Brazilian Arabica. The integration of J Wray Jamaican dark rum-soaked oak introduces layers of molasses, charred wood, and a hint of vanilla. The palate is exceptionally thick, reflecting its milk stout foundations, with rich bittersweet chocolate and dark roasted grains leading to a lingering, warming finish. Complex notes of dried plums and black currants meld with the spirituous rum character, creating a harmonious, viscous masterpiece.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM). Pours with a dense, persistent dark mocha head that leaves thick lacing. Viscous legs are prominent on the glass due to the high alcohol content and sugar density.

Aroma. High intensity. Dominant freshly roasted coffee and dark chocolate. The J Wray Jamaican dark rum provides a clear spirituous note alongside toasted oak, vanilla, and caramel. Moderate esters of prune and raisin. No hop aroma. Clean fermentation with a noticeable but smooth alcohol presence.

Taste. Rich and multifaceted. Initial impression of sweet espresso and dark cocoa. The Dabov Specialty Coffee provides a sophisticated roasted profile without harshness. Mid-palate reveals rum-soaked oak, brown sugar, and a subtle creamy sweetness from the milk stout base. Bitterness is moderate, primarily from roasted grains, balancing the heavy residual sugars. Finish is long, with lingering notes of dark fruit, oak tannins, and a gentle alcohol warmth.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and remarkably viscous; a chewy and velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. Significant alcohol warmth is present but remains smooth and integrated. Low astringency despite the oak and coffee additions.
