Wanderlust is a refined Kölsch collaboration between Cloudwater and Pillars, capturing the elegant simplicity of traditional Cologne draft service. Brilliantly clear and refreshing, it highlights a clean German Pilsner malt profile with low grainy-sweet notes. The fermentation by a clean German ale yeast yields delicate pear and apple esters, characteristic of the style. Subtle floral and spicy hop notes provide a balanced, moderate bitterness that keeps the palate lively. Its hallmark is a soft, rounded mouthfeel and a crisp, dry finish, making it exceptionally drinkable and authentic to its heritage.

Appearance. Brilliant clarity with a medium yellow color and a delicate, fine-beaded white head that shows moderate retention.

Aroma. Low to moderate grainy-sweet malt aroma with subtle fruity esters of pear and red apple. Very low floral and herbal hop character. Clean fermentation profile with no diacetyl or sulfur.

Taste. Balanced initial impression of soft malt and medium-low bitterness. Grainy-sweet malt flavor with very light bready notes. Subtle fruitiness and a low herbal hop presence. The finish is soft, dry, and clean, lacking any harshness or residual sweetness.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a soft, smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate and delicate, mimicking traditional draft service. No perceptible alcohol warmth.

Hosting their first collaboration, we invited London's Lager Lovers Pillars to brew a clean and refreshing Köln-style lager.
From the traditional Brauhäuser of Cologne to the industrial estates of Manchester and London, we've teamed up with Pillars Brewery to bring you an Oktoberfest classic: a Kölsch-style lager. Our main goal for this collaboration was to highlight our individual strengths—Pillars' expertise in lager and our own in pale ales. This led us to the idea of a Kölsch, a perfectly balanced, top-fermented German lager crafted with ale yeast.

The result is a crisp, bright and super refreshing beer boasting a golden cracker-bread like sweetness from the malt. Delicate notes of ripe orange and sweet tangerine come to the forefront, typical of the German Tango hops used, then with a longer gooseberry and lime snappy finish from the Loral.

440ml can, 5.0% ABV
