Suchness is a refined American Pale Ale designed for the soft, smooth delivery of a traditional cask pour. At a sessionable 4% ABV, it prioritizes drinkability while showcasing a vibrant hop duo. Strata brings modern layers of passionfruit and strawberry, while Simcoe grounds the profile with classic notes of pine and earthy resin. The malt base remains supportive and bready, allowing the bright tropical and citrus characters to shine. It is exceptionally balanced, offering a clean, refreshing bitterness that complements the creamy texture of the cask conditioning, resulting in a sophisticated, modern session ale.
Appearance. Pale gold (6 SRM). Dense, creamy white head with excellent lacing and retention. Clear with a brilliant clarity.
Aroma. Moderate to high hop aroma featuring tropical notes of passionfruit and berry, alongside classic pine and resinous tones. Low bready maltiness provides a neutral, supportive base. Clean fermentation profile with very low fruity esters.
Taste. Initial hop-forward impression of grapefruit and pine. The malt flavor is low and bready, never clashing with the hops. Moderate bitterness (approx. 35 IBU) provides a firm but balanced structure. Finishes dry and clean with a lingering, soft resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body. Low to moderate carbonation, exhibiting a smooth and creamy texture typical of cask conditioning. No alcohol warmth; very high drinkability without astringency.
