Solis Radius is a vibrant Wild Specialty Beer that captures the essence of a strawberry smoothie. This collaboration with Elmeleven brings forth a profile reminiscent of strawberry cheesecake and sweet bon bons. The addition of significant strawberry puree imparts a lush, jammy fruit character, while vanilla provides a smooth, confectionery depth. Despite the dessert-forward aromatics, a distinct tartness from the wild fermentation cuts through the fruit, keeping the palate bright. This sessionable brew balances the creamy, dense texture of a smoothie with a refreshing acidic bite, resulting in a complex, fruit-forward experience that finishes with a clean, tart linger.
Appearance. Opaque and thick with a vibrant, deep pink to soft red hue; forms a creamy, light-pink head with moderate to poor retention and minimal lacing due to high fruit solids.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics of fresh and jammy strawberry puree dominate, complemented by a sweet, creamy vanilla presence. A moderate lactic tartness is evident, along with very low earthy wild yeast notes and no hop aroma.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of strawberry cheesecake and fruity bon bon sweets. The mid-palate reveals a moderate lactic acidity that balances the perceived sweetness of the vanilla. Malt is mostly obscured by fruit. Finishes with a bright, tart bite that prevents the fruit from becoming cloying, leaving a lingering strawberry flavor.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, creamy, and lush texture characteristic of a smoothie. Carbonation is moderate, providing a slight lift to the dense fruit puree. Alcohol warmth is non-existent.

We have ventured into territories unknown…After trying their Maple Cake & Coconut Cream MELT Stout at Farm Trip earlier this year, we knew we had to get Elmeleven in for a collab. These guys are well known for their big, crazy (& delicious) beers, including a beer style we’ve never attempted before, a smoothie sour! It felt the perfect match that Elmeleven could collaborate with us on this brew, holding our hand and guiding us into beer styles unfamiliar.It’s all been a bit of a mess really (quite literally), strawberry puree all over the brewery, in peoples hair and wellies and the canning line took twice as long to clean as normal. Think the shining elevator scene but with delicious pink fruity liquid.It was all worth it however, because this strawberry and vanilla smoothie is one soft and creamy drink. Think strawberry cheesecake & bon bon sweets with a bite of tartness at the end to awaken the tastebuds & keep things bright.It’s been super fun getting to experiment with a new beer style and we hope you get to try it, let us know what you think!
