Cloudwater’s Phuture 2 is a vibrant Hazy IPA that showcases a lush, tropical fruit salad character through a meticulous blend of Idaho 7, Mosaic, and Loral hops. The sensory experience opens with an intense aromatic profile of sweet mango and classic bubblegum, evolving into a succulent palate reminiscent of freshly sliced honeydew melon. These hop-driven flavors are supported by a soft, bready malt backbone and a smooth, full-bodied mouthfeel that balances the 6% alcohol. Despite its juicy sweetness, it retains the refreshing drinkability expected of the style, finishing with a gentle, restrained bitterness and a lingering stone fruit essence.

Appearance. Pours a hazy, opaque straw color with a brilliant, luminous shine. Capped by a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head that demonstrates excellent retention and leaves thick lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring punchy tropical notes of mango and papaya from the Idaho 7, alongside the berry-like and bubblegum esters of Mosaic and Loral. A clean, lightly bready malt scent sits in the background, complemented by a fresh, green melon sweetness.

Taste. Initial impression is a burst of sweet mango and tropical fruit salad. The mid-palate reveals distinct honeydew melon and stone fruit flavors. Bitterness is moderate and soft, never harsh, allowing the hop fruitiness to dominate. The finish is off-dry and clean, with a lingering note of ripe fruit and subtle floral nuances.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a characteristically soft and pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate, enhancing the smooth mouthfeel without any carbonic bite. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, adding to the beer’s structure.
