This Hazy IPA is a vibrant juice bomb that showcases the synergistic effects of a terpene-releasing enzyme and a heavy dry-hop of Enigma and Motueka. The nose is an explosion of tropical intensity, featuring crushed white grapes and red currants from the Enigma, contrasted by the bright mojito-lime and zesty lemon notes of Motueka. On the palate, a soft, doughy malt base supports layers of papaya and melon. The fermentation produces a lush, pillowy texture with a sticky sweet profile that balances restrained bitterness against a massive, saturated hop oil character, reflecting the bold intent of this collaboration.
Appearance. Deep straw to golden-orange (5-6 SRM) with a dense, opaque haze and a luminous glow. Pours with a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head that shows excellent retention and leaves intricate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma dominated by tropical and stone fruits. Prominent notes of lime zest, passionfruit, and a distinct vinous, berry-like quality. Background malt is neutral, reminiscent of fresh flour and sweet grain, with no toasted or caramel notes.
Taste. Tropical fruit flavors lead with high intensity, featuring mango, lime, and melon. The malt provides a bready, flaked-grain foundation that supports the juicy hop character. Bitterness is low to medium-low, smooth and never harsh. The finish is off-dry and lingering with a fruit-cocktail aftertaste and minimal hop burn.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present at 7% ABV, enhancing the overall richness without any astringency or raw starch harshness.
