Material Science is a sophisticated Baltic Porter that exemplifies the intersection of lager-like cleanliness and robust porter complexity. The sensory profile is defined by a decadent bouquet of toffee and dark chocolate, accented by deep notes of plum and raisin. On the palate, the cold fermentation process yields a remarkably smooth profile where layers of roasty coffee and rich malt sugars coalesce without harshness. A delicate touch of light smokiness adds intrigue to the finish. Full-bodied yet impeccably balanced, this beer delivers a deceptive warmth that makes it a perfect companion for the colder months.

Appearance. Opaque dark brown with deep reddish-copper highlights. It features a thick, persistent tan head with excellent lacing and retention.

Aroma. High-intensity rich maltiness characterized by toffee, toasted nuts, and dark chocolate. Complex esters of plum, cherry, and raisin are prominent, alongside a clean fermentation profile and a hint of roasty coffee.

Taste. Initial malt sweetness leads to complex layers of molasses, caramel, and chocolate. A smooth, roasted flavor reminiscent of coffee emerges mid-palate, complemented by dried fruit notes and a light smokiness. It finishes dryish with a lingering roast character and medium-low bitterness for balance.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally smooth. Medium-high carbonation provides a mouth-filling texture that prevents the beer from feeling heavy. A noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth provides a comforting finish.
