This imposing Doppelbock, conceptualized as a "Doppelschwarz," delivers a profound sensory experience shaped by six months in Bourbon barrels. The profile is defined by an interplay of deep, toasted teacake and sweet caramel maltiness, immediately elevated by lush notes of dark chocolate and smooth vanilla from the oak. Ripe plum and sun-dried raisin esters provide a dark fruit complexity that bridges the gap between traditional German malt richness and the refined char of the barrel. Despite its initial weight, a surprising dryness emerges on the finish, where roasted malt nuances and a gentle spirituous warmth linger alongside a whisper of toasted oak.

Appearance. Very dark brown with deep ruby highlights; clear despite its depth. Supports a large, creamy, and persistent tan head with excellent lacing.
