This Double IPA showcases an innovative use of Citra, Nelson, Motueka, and Galaxy to deliver a multi-dimensional sensory profile. The aroma leads with a New Zealand-driven bouquet of white grape and gooseberry from the Nelson and Motueka additions, while Citra and Galaxy provide a deep core of peach and citrus. On the palate, the liquid hop extracts create a dense, resinous character that coats the tongue without harshness. A supportive, neutral malt bill allows the lime and tropical fruit notes to remain the focus, finishing with a firm bitterness and smooth alcohol warmth that emphasizes its strength.
Appearance. Gold to deep gold (7-9 SRM). Persistent, thick, creamy white head with excellent lacing. Hazy to opaque with a dense visual texture.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring a complex blend of white grape, gooseberry, and crushed lime. Secondary notes of tropical passion fruit, peach, and citrus zest. Low, neutral grainy malt in the background; clean fermentation profile with no diacetyl.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit and citrus. Prominent hop flavors of lime, peach, and sauvignon blanc grape. Moderately high bitterness that is firm but smooth, lacking harshness. Low, supportive crackery malt character. The finish is medium-dry and resinous, with a long, lingering hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a plush, creamy, and resinous texture. Moderate carbonation. Restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present. Low astringency despite the high hop saturation.
