Cloudwater Brew Co

This legendary Double IPA, a collaboration with The Veil, presents an opaque, saturated glow. The aroma is an explosive bouquet of tropical fruit, driven by heavy additions of Galaxy, Citra, and El Dorado hops, yielding notes of overripe mango, bright pineapple, and lime zest. A base of English malt and flaked oats provides a dense, velvety foundation that supports the massive hop intensity. The palate is profoundly juicy, balancing a soft, doughy sweetness with a restrained, integrated bitterness. It delivers a rich, palate-coating experience where lush fruit flavors linger long into a warming, smooth finish.

Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7-9 SRM). Opaque, thick haze. Large, persistent, creamy white head with dense lacing.

Aroma. Intense hop aroma; dominant notes of passionfruit and peach from Galaxy, paired with Citra’s grapefruit and El Dorado’s candied pineapple. Low bready, grainy malt in the background. Clean fermentation profile with a hint of orange esters.

Taste. High hop flavor mirroring the aroma: mango, lime, and tropical fruit punch. Low, soft malt sweetness, reminiscent of fresh bread. Bitterness is firm but smooth, not harsh, providing enough balance to offset the high alcohol and residual sweetness. Finish is long and fruity.

Mouthfeel. Full, viscous body with a creamy, pillowy texture from the heavy use of flaked oats. Moderate carbonation. Noticeable, well-integrated alcohol warmth that is smooth rather than hot.

Our annual collaboration with The Veil is a supernova of modern hop flavours, brimming with ripe tropical fruits, yet powerfully dank and resinous. It was the first Triple IPA we brewed, back in 2017, and remains a marker for our approach to this uncompromising and intensely aromatic style. Revel in huge tropical aromas of juicy pineapple, mango and guava, then savour the flavours of slightly overripe mango and papaya with a background of honeydew melon. It’s chewy, almost sticky-sweet mouthfeel is complemented by a slight touch of pine that balances out the immense sweetness and perfectly rounds off every sip.
