The Veil Brewing Co.

This collaboration between Cloudwater and The Veil delivers a quintessential Triple IPA experience within the Double IPA framework. A massive 10% ABV supports a remarkably chewy, thick body that pushes the boundaries of the style. Intensely aromatic, it opens with a unique, almost savoury passionfruit character layered over peppery tropical notes. The palate is dominated by lush, ripe mango and soft citrus fruits, transitioning into a surprisingly long, resinous finish of pine. Despite its significant strength and creamy mouthfeel, it maintains the punchy hop-forward focus expected of a modern American powerhouse, balancing immense fruit saturation with a firm, lingering bitterness.

Appearance. Deep gold to pale orange with a dense, persistent off-white head. High opacity and a heavy, nectar-like appearance consistent with its high protein and hop load.

Aroma. Intense hop-forward bouquet featuring pungent, savoury passionfruit and a distinct peppery spice. Underlying notes of overripe mango, tangerine, and a faint resinous pine needle presence over a clean, neutral malt base.

Taste. Leading with vibrant mango and sweet citrus, the flavor profile is complex and saturated. The mid-palette reveals peppery tropical fruit and spicy hop oils. Bitterness is firm and assertive but smooth, never harsh, leading into a long, resinous pine finish. The malt is supportive and slightly grainy but largely overshadowed by hop intensity.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied, thick, and exceptionally creamy. Carbonation is moderate, providing enough lift to prevent cloying. A smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, reflecting its high gravity without being solventy.

Our annual collaboration with The Veil is a supernova of modern hop flavours, brimming with ripe tropical fruits, yet powerfully dank and resinous. It was the first Triple IPA we brewed, back in 2017, and remains a marker for our approach to this uncompromising and intensely aromatic style.

Revel in huge tropical aromas of juicy pineapple, mango and guava, then savour the flavours of slightly overripe mango and papaya with a background of honeydew melon. It’s chewy, almost sticky-sweet mouthfeel is complemented by a slight touch of pine that balances out the immense sweetness and perfectly rounds off every sip."
