This Brett Beer presents a complex harmony of fruit and funk, derived from a blend of barrel-aged Belgian-style Pale Ale and foudre-conditioned beer. The addition of chuckleberries imparts a distinct, juicy berry profile that interplays with the herbal nuances of the base. Brettanomyces development over three years of wood aging contributes a delicate funk of wet hay and aged leather, while maintaining a dry, crisp backbone. Notes of tart redcurrant and gooseberry from the chuckleberries are underscored by a subtle minerality. It finishes exceptionally clean, offering a sophisticated balance between fruity vibrancy and rustic, barrel-aged depth.

Appearance. Deep gold to amber with soft reddish-pink hues from the chuckleberries. Generally clear to slightly hazy due to mixed fermentation and fruit conditioning. Forms a moderate, off-white to pale pink head with fair retention and light lacing.

Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Bright, tart berry notes of gooseberry and redcurrant blend with earthy Brettanomyces character including dusty hay and a hint of leather. The Belgian-style base provides a subtle toasted malt sweetness and herbal hop notes. Light woody vanillin and oak tannins emerge from the extended barrel aging.

Taste. A multi-layered profile where juicy chuckleberry fruitiness meets a dry, herbal finish. Initial flavors of tart berries and stone fruit transition into a rustic, earthy funk. Malt presence is low, presenting as light cracker, overshadowed by a firm minerality. Hop bitterness is low but complemented by light wood tannins. The finish is bone-dry and crisp, leaving a lingering tart fruit and Brettanomyces aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a noticeably dry, attenuated character. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a lively, effervescent scrub. Very low alcohol warmth at 6.2% ABV. A slight touch of wood tannin provides structure without being astringent.
