This celebratory Double IPA delivers a concentrated sensory experience, defined by an aggressive 25 g/l dry-hop addition of 2016 harvest Citra. The nose is a powerhouse of overripe tropical fruit and sticky pine resin, deeply intertwined with the distinctive tropical fruit esters produced by the 4775th generation JW Lees yeast. On the palate, punchy notes of mango, papaya, and grapefruit zest collide with a persistent, dank herbaceousness. Despite its significant 9% strength, the beer maintains a lean malt profile, allowing the firm bitterness and vibrant hop character to command the finish. It is a bold, intensely fruity, and unapologetically hoppy interpretation of the style.

Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper color (8-10 SRM). Pours with a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that leaves significant lacing. Clarity is mostly clear, though a slight hop haze is present from the massive dry-hopping rate.

Aroma. Intensity is high, featuring prominent Citra hop characteristics of grapefruit, passion fruit, and lime, backed by a significant dank, resinous quality. High tropical fruit esters from the JW Lees yeast contribute mango and pineapple layers. Malt is low and neutral, presenting as light grainy-sweetness in the background.

Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of tropical and citrus fruit. Strong hop flavors of mango, orange peel, and resin are supported by a clean, soft, bready malt backbone. Bitterness is high but well-managed and smooth. The fermentation character adds complex fruitiness that complements the hops. Finishes medium-dry with a lingering, resinous, and fruity aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate. A noticeable, well-integrated alcohol warmth reflects the 9% ABV. No significant hop-derived astringency is present.
