Yakima Caviar is a sophisticated American IPA that highlights the harvest season with an intense infusion of wet Citra hops from Loftus Ranches. The sensory experience is defined by vibrant, fresh aromatics, leading with high-intensity notes of ripe peach, bright tangerine, and tropical mango. A clean, subtle malt backbone supports these lush, oily hop characters without distraction. On the palate, the beer exhibits a refined balance, featuring a silky mouthfeel and a graceful, leafy finish characteristic of freshly picked bines. It successfully marries assertive bitterness with a delicate, floral elegance, offering a fleeting, harvest-driven expression of Yakima’s premier hop variety.
Appearance. Medium gold color (approx. 7 SRM) with a slight, soft haze from fresh hop oils. Features a large, white, creamy head with excellent persistence and intricate lacing.
Aroma. High-intensity hop aroma featuring dominant tropical fruit (mango), stone fruit (peach), and bright citrus (tangerine). A distinct, fresh, herbaceous 'green' character is present, supported by a low, clean, grainy malt profile and neutral fermentation character.
Taste. Vibrant hop flavors of mango and citrus zest lead the palate, followed by a medium-high bitterness that is firm but clean. Low grainy-sweet malt provides necessary support. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, leafy, and resinous hop aftertaste that remains graceful and smooth.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a unique silky, almost oily texture from the wet hop resins. Moderate carbonation with a smooth, very light alcohol warmth. No astringency despite the heavy hop load.
