This American IPA is a vibrant celebration of the harvest, showcasing a hardwired connection of fresh, wet hops. The sensory experience is led by Citra from Loftus Ranches and early-harvest Columbus from Virgil Gamache Farms, delivering a high-definition array of peaches, blackberries, and bright tangerines. A resinous undercurrent of spruce tips adds depth to the aromatic profile. On the palate, the hop-forward intensity is balanced by a clean, lean malt backbone that ensures a crisp, dry finish. It is a complex, medium-bodied ale that captures the fleeting, vivid essence of fresh-picked hops in a classic West Coast framework.
Appearance. Medium gold to light amber with a slight, brilliant haze. Topped by a medium-sized, off-white head with excellent persistence and fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity with a punchy, fresh wet-hop character. Notable notes of tangerine citrus, stone fruit peach, and dark berry. A resinous, piney spruce tip quality provides a sharp, green counterpoint to the fruit. Low, grainy malt sweetness supports the hops.
Taste. Initial impression is a wave of juicy tangerine and peach, followed by a mid-palate of blackberry and earthy spruce. High bitterness is clean and well-integrated. The malt flavor is low, featuring a simple cracker-like graininess. Finishes dry and crisp with a lingering hoppy, resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture from the wet hops. Medium-high carbonation. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present.
