Cloudburst Brewing Soft Squeeze
This American IPA is a vibrant celebration of tropical intensity and velvet-like textures. A generous splash of white wheat creates a cushioned, supple foundation that elevates the punchy hop profile. Aromas of mango and overripe pineapple from Azacca lead the charge, followed by Mosaic's signature notes of blueberry and earthy spice. On the palate, Citra brings a bright wash of citrus zest and grapefruit, slicing through the soft malt base. The bitterness is firm but refined, leading to a crisp, dry finish that emphasizes the refreshing, juicy quality of the hop oils without overwhelming the senses. It is a harmonious, modern take on the style.
Appearance. Medium gold (7 SRM) with a soft, slight haze. Features a medium-sized, white head with good persistence and delicate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma with prominent notes of tropical mango, pineapple, and citrus zest. A light berry and stone fruit character is present, supported by a low, clean, bready maltiness from the wheat. Fermentation is clean.
Taste. Initial hop-forward impression of grapefruit and mixed tropical fruits. Malt flavor is low and clean with a light grainy-breadiness. Bitterness is firm and medium-high, balancing the hop-saturated palate. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering citrus and resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, almost creamy texture from the wheat addition. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a refreshing prickle. Very light, smooth alcohol warmth is present without any harshness.

HOW THE FUCK IS IT ALREADY JUNE?! WE DON’T KNOW BUT WE’RE STOKED ABOUT IT. One of the best things about June is PRIDE, and with that, comes a beer to help raise funds for the Seattle LGBTQIA+ community. This year, we teamed up with Seattle artist Lane Bestold for the label (Lane’s medium is quilts) and he wanted us to team up with the Lavender Rights Foundation again to be our beery beneficiary. LRF is a Seattle based organization that offers financial, legal and social services to the black and indigenous intersex and gender diverse community. What’s the Soft Squeeze name about? Well, there’s a splash of white wheat in there to match the softness of Lane’s work, and a juicy, tropical hop bill of Azacca, Mosaic, & Citra. And while “squeeze” has lots of positive connotations (Yummy juice! A fantastic hug!) there is some duality there – as conservatives are putting the squeeze on trans rights across the country. There are currently over 500 bills in 40+ states, including our home state of Washington against the community and there is no better time to stand up for human rights. LFG!
