This American IPA serves as a dedicated showcase for the experimental ID158 hop variety, delivering what the brewers call a Pinerama sensory experience. The profile is dominated by intense conifer needles, sticky resin, and aromatic cedar, creating a pungent evergreen core. These woodsy depths are brightened by vibrant flashes of orange zest and a hint of earthy redwood, reminiscent of a citrus-forward mimosa enjoyed in a dense forest. A clean, neutral pale malt base allows these aggressive hop characteristics to remain front and center. The experience concludes with a briskly dry, resinous finish that maintains the firm bitterness essential to the style.
Appearance. Medium gold with brilliant clarity; features a persistent, medium-sized off-white head with excellent lacing (6-8 SRM).
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent resinous pine, spruce, and cedar wood. Significant citrus zest notes of orange and a subtle earthy undertone are supported by very low, clean grainy maltiness.
Taste. Initial impression is aggressively hop-forward with flavors of pine resin, cedar, and orange peel. Features a medium-high bitterness that is firm and clean. Low, neutral grainy malt flavor supports the hops without adding significant sweetness. The finish is very dry and lingering with a resinous, conifer-heavy aftertaste.

It’s been two years. Two WHOLE years moving this box of experimental hops from Jackson Farms of Idaho around the cooler. It’s just always in the way! And we want to use something else right now! Over that time span, this hop – ID158 – has changed names twice. First, it was known as Ocho. Then, it was known as Pink. But after FINALLY using it in this beer, we’d like to propose the name “Pinerama”. Yep. Pinerama. PINERAMA! Because it tastes like the entire conifer tree – needles and resin and a little bit earth – combined with some cedar and orange zest in there too. It’s like a mimosa brunch underneath a redwood tree. It’s like shoving a spruce tree through a juicer right after an orange went through it. It’s like…PINERAMA, BAY-BAY!
