This vibrant West Coast IPA showcases an aggressive megadose of fresh, wet whole cone Simcoe and Strata hops. The sensory profile is defined by an intense, resinous hop saturation that delivers vivid layers of ruby red grapefruit, white pine, and delicate flowery perfume. The use of unkilned hops introduces a distinctive, clean leafy character alongside notes of bright red berries. Supported by a lean malt backbone, the experience culminates in a bracing, palate-scouring bitterness that remains remarkably clean. It is a high-impact exploration of harvest-fresh lupulin, balancing pungent dankness with crisp, citrus-driven elegance typical of the American IPA style.
Appearance. Deep gold with brilliant clarity. Pours with a persistent, frothy white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring pungent resinous pine, zesty ruby red grapefruit, and a distinct green leafy freshness from wet cones. Secondary notes of strawberry and floral perfume are present. Very low, clean, grainy malt sweetness in the background with a neutral fermentation profile.
Taste. Assertive hop-forward flavors of dank pine and bitter citrus pith, followed by a mid-palate of red berries. High bitterness is bracing but clean, lacking harshness. Low grainy malt provides just enough support to prevent being one-dimensional. The finish is very dry with a lingering, resinous, and leafy hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a crisp, smooth texture. Carbonation is medium-high, accentuating the dry finish. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present.
