This Imperial American Porter presents a decadent sensory experience defined by its bold, festive character. Dominated by layers of rich cocoa and chocolate, the profile is underpinned by a robust roasted malt backbone reminiscent of espresso and scorched toffee. At 9.7% ABV, a sophisticated alcohol warmth integrates seamlessly, enhancing the beer’s impact while remaining smooth and approachable. Subtle earthy hop notes provide a structural counterpoint to the deep malty sweetness, creating a balanced yet powerful palate. Designed for slow sipping, it delivers a complex array of bittersweet flavors that linger long after the finish, evoking a cozy, fireside indulgence.

Appearance. Very dark brown, approaching opaque black with deep garnet highlights when held to the light. Crowned by a dense, tan-colored head with moderate retention and light lacing.

Aroma. High intensity aroma of dark chocolate and cocoa, layered over a moderately strong roasted malt profile featuring coffee and toasted bread. Background notes of caramel and toffee provide a rich sweetness, complemented by very low earthy hop character and subtle dark fruit esters. A clean, noticeable alcohol warmth is present.

Taste. Initial impression is one of intense bittersweet chocolate and roasted grains. A moderately strong roasted flavor, leaning towards cocoa and light coffee, is supported by a sweet, malty richness. Bitterness is medium-high, providing enough structure to balance the high gravity and residual sweetness. The finish is lingering and medium-sweet, with a persistent chocolate aftertaste and no acrid harshness.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and velvety. Carbonation is moderately low, enhancing the creamy texture. A distinct, pleasant alcohol warmth is felt, appropriate for its imperial strength, without being harsh or fusel. Very low malt astringency.
