This Smoked Baltic Porter, a collaboration with Sui Generis, presents a sophisticated interplay of rich confectionery and hearth-like depth. Deep chocolate notes lead the sensory profile, complemented by a smooth, savory smoke character that weaves through layers of toasted malt and subtle dark fruit. The 7.5% ABV provides a gentle, supporting warmth that never detracts from the clean, lager-like fermentation character. The smoke is beautifully integrated, avoiding any acrid or phenolic harshness, instead enhancing the decadent malt backbone with a rustic, toasted quality. It finishes with a refined balance of lingering cocoa and a soft, smoky dryness.
Appearance. Deep, mahogany brown with ruby highlights and brilliant clarity. Crowning the pour is a thick, persistent tan head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity featuring a rich blend of milk chocolate and dark malts. A clean, agreeable wood-smoke aroma is well-integrated, supported by faint esters of dried plum and raisin. No harsh phenols or sulfur.
