Cierzo Brewing Co.

A soft and intensely juicy Hazy IPA showcasing the vibrant, sun-drenched hop profiles of the Southern Hemisphere. Collaborative brewing expertise infuses this pale, glowing nectar with massive tropical notes. The distinctive Nelson Sauvin hops deliver a striking burst of white wine grape and gooseberry, beautifully complemented by the stone fruit richness of Rakau. Bright, zesty lime and lemon-peel highlights from Motueka lift the mid-palate, while Southern Cross provides a clean, supporting layer of tropical pine and citrus zest. This complex hop medley floats over a smooth, grain-soft malt base, finishing with a delicate, rounded bitterness that invites another sip.

Appearance. Pale straw to deep gold with an orange hue (approx. 4-5 SRM). High, dense, meringue-like white head with exceptional retention and beautiful, sticky lacing. The beer is intensely hazy and opaque, displaying a glowing, luminous sheen without any visible sediment or chunky particulates.

Aroma. High to intense hop aroma dominated by vibrant tropical and stone fruit characters. Lush notes of passionfruit, white grape, and ripe peach mingle with bright lime zest, sweet melon, and a subtle undercurrent of lemon-herb. The malt profile is extremely clean and low, offering a soft, bready, and grainy wheat-and-oat background. Fermentation esters are clean and complement the fruity hops perfectly.

Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of juicy tropical fruit flavor, led by ripe mango, gooseberry, and crushed lime. Flaked grain sweetness provides a soft, bready, and lightly oaty backbone that balances the hops. Bittering is low to moderate, highly integrated and soft, never harsh or astringent. The mid-palate is juicy and off-dry, leading to a smooth, clean finish with lingering notes of white wine grape and citrus oil.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full, silky, and soft body, with a luxurious smoothness that coats the palate without feeling heavy or cloying. Carbonation is moderate, presenting fine, creamy bubbles. Alcohol warmth is extremely gentle and well-integrated. Free from hop burn, astringency, or raw starchy texture.
