This traditional Czech Premium Pale Lager, a staple of Western Bohemia, pours a brilliant, radiant gold. It leads with a complex, medium-high bready-rich maltiness that reflects Chodovar’s century-and-a-half legacy. The aroma is defined by unmistakable, spicy, and floral Saaz hop notes, perfectly integrated with the soft, decoction-derived malt backbone. On the palate, a velvety smooth texture carries flavors of fresh bread crust and light honey, balanced by a firm yet rounded bitterness typical of traditional Czech hops. The finish is clean and lingering, showcasing a harmonious interplay between sweet malt and a noble herbal character that provides an exceptionally refreshing quality.
Appearance. Radiant medium gold (approx. 5 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a dense, long-lasting, creamy white head that leaves excellent lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Moderate-high intensity. Dominant bready-rich malt bouquet with hints of fresh grain. This is complemented by a prominent spicy and floral hop character. Fermentation is clean, though a very low, acceptable hint of buttery diacetyl and subtle apple-like esters may be present.
