Kopec is a mellow interpretation of a Czech Premium Pale Lager, bridging the gap between traditional Bohemian lagers and British cask conditioning. The use of Kazbek hops introduces a nuanced layer of mixed fruit, lemon, and berry notes over a foundation of sweet, bready lager malt. As a cask-conditioned lager, it presents a softer, moreish profile than kegged counterparts, prioritizing a rounded malt character and gentle carbonation. The sensory experience is defined by the harmony of subtle berry-like esters and floral spice, finishing with a clean, lingering sweetness that highlights the delicate complexity of the Kazbek variety while maintaining exceptional drinkability.
Appearance. Deep gold color (approximately 5 SRM). Displays a dense, creamy white head with moderate retention. Clarity is clear to brilliant, though a very slight natural haze may be present from cask conditioning.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring rich, bready-rich malt. The hop bouquet is distinctive, showcasing the Kazbek variety's unique profile of wild berries, lemon zest, and traditional herbal spice. Low fruity esters are perceptible, complementing the hop-derived fruitiness.
