Chevatlán nace en el año 2013 en el Estado de Tlaxcala con la meta de convertirse en la cervecería artesanal con presencia nacional a través de sus estilos propios.
El nombre de chevatlán proviene de las dos lenguas mexicanas que se hablaban en plenitud antes de la conquista española, que eran el Maya y el Náhuatl. Cheva significa “cerveza” en Maya. Tlán signifca “lugar” en Náhuatl. Dando como resultado “El lugar de la cerveza” El símbolo de la garza representa a Tizatlán, uno de los cuatro señoríos de la antigua república de Tlaxcala.
Chevatlán nació con la inquietud de su dueño Edgar Francisco Xochitiotzi Zarate, quien buscaba una actividad en donde ejercer tanto su licenciatura como su maestría, lo que en una tarde de unas cervezas en un bar conocido en la Av. Juárez de Puebla donde se ofrecen cervezas alemanas, fue ahí donde nació la inquietud del Patrón por incursionar en el mercado de la cerveza artesanal.
