NucleALEr is a vibrant American Pale Ale that radiates a potent hop-forward character. The star performers, Citra and Amarillo, collide to release an intense sensory wave of zesty grapefruit, sun-ripened orange, and lush tropical passionfruit. These hop-derived floral and citrus notes are expertly anchored by a supportive, neutral malt backbone that provides a hint of toasted grain and light biscuit. At 5.5% ABV, it strikes a precise balance between refreshing drinkability and a firm, clean bitterness. This craft ale offers an explosive bouquet and a crisp, dry finish that lingers with bright, resinous fruit nuances.
Appearance. Radiant pale golden to deep amber. Pours with a moderately large, off-white head demonstrating good retention and leaving fine lacing. Clarity is generally clear to brilliant.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by Citra and Amarillo, showcasing heavy citrus (grapefruit, lime), tropical fruit (passionfruit, mango), and distinct floral-orange notes. Low, neutral grainy maltiness provides a clean background, with a subtle hint of bread crust or biscuit. Fermentation is very clean with negligible esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of citrus and tropical fruit. Strong flavors of orange peel and peach from the Amarillo hops mingle with the grapefruit and lime of Citra. A moderate neutral pale malt flavor supports the hop profile without adding excessive sweetness. Bitterness is firm and assertive but stays balanced. The finish is medium-dry and clean, with a lingering citrus zest aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light to medium body with a smooth, well-rounded texture. Carbonation is moderate to high, providing a prickly but pleasant sensation. No noticeable alcohol warmth or astringency.
