Space Oddity is a cosmic exploration of the Double IPA style, radiating with a golden copper hue and a touch of haze. This high-gravity brew centers on a massive hop profile driven by Chinook, Simcoe, Talus, Idaho 7, and Sabro. The sensory journey launches with intense aromas of resinous pine and candied peaches, transitioning into a saturated palate of vibrant oranges, pineapple, and apricot. Despite the Pale Malt and Cara Pils providing a sturdy foundation and moderate-to-full body, the finish remains remarkably dry, allowing the firm bitterness and tropical esters to shine without heavy residual sugar.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper (SRM 8-12). Moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with light lacing. Displays a slight, modern haze rather than brilliant clarity.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by complex New World hop characteristics: prominent resinous pine and citrus zest, layered with tropical pineapple, ripe apricot, and a distinct stone fruit note. Low, neutral grainy malt support. Clean fermentation with a hint of smooth alcohol warmth.
Taste. Immediate impact of intense hop flavor mirroring the aroma—tangerine, stone fruit, and resin. Bitterness is firm and high but lacks harshness. Supporting malt is clean and unobtrusive, featuring light bready notes from Pale Malt. The finish is dry and crisp, with a lingering, pleasant citrus and resin aftertaste and high hop-derived fruitiness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth from the high ABV. Minimal hop-derived astringency, finishing with a clean, warming sensation.

The tropical and citrus notes from the new world variety of hops adds perceived sweetness that leaves every extra terrestrial wanting more as they sit back and launch off into space!
