A base of Golden Promise and Pale Malt supports deep layers of Chocolate Malt, Caramunich, and Carafa, yielding rich notes of sweet baker’s chocolate and light-roast coffee. Magnum and Pride of Ringwood hops provide an assertive, clean bitterness that defines the initial palate before harmonizing with the dark grains. Despite its sessionable 4.7% ABV, the beer maintains a surprisingly full, creamy presence. It balances earthy hop nuances with a moderately dry, clean finish, staying true to classic export traditions while remaining highly drinkable.
Appearance. Very deep brown to near-black (38 SRM); opaque under normal light with a thick, creamy tan head showing excellent retention and lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity featuring dark chocolate, cocoa, and lightly toasted coffee beans. Subtle earthy and herbal notes from Pride of Ringwood hops are present. Low yeast esters; clean fermentation profile without diacetyl or sulfur.
