Chad Beer IPA Specimen.5

This Double IPA presents an intense sensory profile dominated by the distinctive character of New Zealand hops. Nelson Sauvin provides sharp notes of crushed gooseberry and white wine grapes, while Rakau adds layers of ripe stone fruit and apricot. Despite its 9% strength, the beer maintains high drinkability with a lean malt backbone that allows the hop saturation to shine. The aroma is punchy and tropical, transitioning into a firm, clean bitterness that lingers on a dry finish. Expect a smooth, hazy appearance and a medium-bodied mouthfeel that balances the assertive hop oils and subtle alcohol warmth without feeling heavy.
Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper with a pronounced haze. Displays a moderate-sized, persistent white head with good lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring Nelson Sauvin notes of white wine, gooseberry, and Rakau notes of stone fruit and apricot. Background is clean and neutral with very low grainy maltiness and a hint of smooth alcohol.
Taste. Strong, complex hop flavors of white grape and nectarine lead into a high bitterness that remains clean and lacks harshness. The malt character is low and soft, providing just enough support for the dry to medium-dry finish. Aftertaste is characterized by lingering hop oils and a crisp bitterness.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is medium-high, and there is a noticeable but restrained and well-integrated alcohol warmth without any hop-derived astringency.
