Cervezas Speranto

This powerful Russian Imperial Stout envelopes the senses in a dark, luxurious tapestry of roasted malts, espresso, and bittersweet chocolate, elevated by aging on oak wood and Ron Cacique 500 rum. A collaboration with Cerveza Malandar, the aroma boasts intense dark chocolate, toffee, and caramelized pastry alongside a distinct, refined rum warmth. On the palate, a velvety, full-bodied creaminess delivers sweet malt complexity, reminiscent of rich pastries, offset by deep roasted bitterness and oaky vanillins. It finishes with a long, harmonious warmth, blending spirit-forward complexity with decadent, lingering bakers' cocoa.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque. Pours with a dense, persistent dark brown head that leaves thick lacing on the glass. Highly viscous, displaying visible legs when swirled.

Aroma. High intensity. Rich, complex layers of dark chocolate, freshly roasted coffee beans, and sweet toffee blend with prominent oaky vanilla, dark dried fruits (raisins and prunes), and a sweet, spirit-forward aroma of Ron Cacique 500 rum. A clean fermentation profile with no hop aroma.

Taste. An intense initial impression of sweet, pastry-like malt and rich dark chocolate. This quickly opens up to strong espresso, toffee, and caramelized sugar flavors, balanced by a firm roasted malt bitterness. The mid-palate features oak wood tannins and a smooth, sweet note of Ron Cacique 500 rum. The finish is long, warming, and bittersweet, with lingering cocoa, dark fruit, and a pleasant alcohol presence.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, chewy, and viscous with a velvety, luscious, and creamy texture. Low to moderate carbonation. A pronounced but incredibly smooth, comforting alcohol warmth coats the throat without any harshness or fusel heat.
