Cerveza Loba Phatástica Vol. 2 is a vibrant American IPA that leverages Phantasm extract to amplify its tropical profile. The infusion of thiols derived from New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc grapes creates an aromatic explosion of passionfruit, guava, and crushed white grape. This intense fruitiness is supported by a clean, light-colored malt base that provides structure without competing for attention. Firm hop bitterness cuts through the initial juice-forward impressions, leading to a crisp, dry finish. Appearance. Deep gold color (8 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a medium-sized, off-white head that demonstrates good persistence and leaves moderate lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward bouquet featuring distinct notes of passionfruit, white currant, and gooseberry attributed to the Phantasm thiols. Complemented by subtle notes of grapefruit zest and resin. Low grainy-sweet malt presence. Clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression is dominated by assertive tropical fruit hop flavors, mirroring the aroma with passionfruit and citrus. Medium-high bitterness is clean and sharp. A neutral, grainy-sweet malt backbone provides a lean platform. Fermentation is very clean, finishing dry with a lingering hop resin and grape skin aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly crisp texture. Medium-high carbonation provides a refreshing bite. Very light, pleasant alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated. No harshness or astringency.
