Celebrating the tenth anniversary of La Belga, Devoxión is a sophisticated Flanders Red Ale that bridges Belgian tradition with Mexican craft expertise from Fauna and Calavera. This collaboration pours a deep burgundy, releasing a complex bouquet of black cherries, red currants, and plums, underscored by a soft toasty malt profile and a hint of oak-derived vanilla. The palate is defined by a bright, prickly acidity and a structured, wine-like tannin presence reminiscent of a fine French Burgundy. At 6.4% ABV, it offers a refined balance of acetic tartness and dried fruit sweetness, finishing crisp and dry with a lingering berry essence.

Appearance. Deep burgundy to reddish-brown (SRM 15-17). Excellent clarity with a thin, off-white head that shows moderate retention and light lacing.

Aroma. High intensity fruity-sour profile. Dominant notes of black cherry, plum, and red currant. Moderate acetic acid provides a vinous sharpness, balanced by soft, toasty malt and a subtle hint of chocolate and vanilla. No hop aroma is present.

Taste. Initial impression is sharply tart and vinous. Rich, toasty malt serves as a canvas for intense tart cherry, fruit leather, and orange peel flavors. Complex, moderate-high sourness with integrated acetic character that avoids being vinegary. Bitterness is very low, as balance is provided by acidity and wood tannins. Finishes dry and crisp with a lingering, tart fruit aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a prickly, refreshing acidity. Low to moderate carbonation. Noticeable but pleasant tannin-driven astringency that enhances the wine-like structure. Deceptively light on the palate despite the 6.4% ABV.
