This Hazy IPA, a collaborative effort between Hoppit and La Lenta, offers an intense sensory experience defined by a massive 25g/L dry-hop addition. The combination of Cryo Pop, Pacific Sunrise, and Simcoe hops produces a saturated profile of tropical stone fruit, pineapple, and zesty citrus. Fermentation with Verdant yeast further amplifies these esters, adding layers of apricot and peach that harmonize with the hop-derived oils. The result is a lush, juice-like character with a soft, supportive sweetness and exceptionally low bitterness. Straw-colored and notably opaque, this beer prioritizes a velvety texture and aromatic depth, delivering a modern, fruit-forward profile that remains effortlessly drinkable.
Appearance. Color is straw to pale gold (3-4 SRM). Opaque with a dense, uniform haze that provides a characteristic shine. Features a persistent, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring dominant notes of mango, passion fruit, and tangerine. Subtle bready and grainy malt character resides in the background. Esters from the yeast contribute noticeable apricot and peach notes, perfectly integrated with the tropical hop profile. Clean fermentation with no detectable DMS or diacetyl.
Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of juicy tropical fruit and citrus. High hop flavor of peach, melon, and orange. Malt flavor is low, providing a neutral, lightly bready sweetness that balances the fruit. Bitterness is low and soft, never harsh. The balance is heavily tilted toward hops and esters, finishing off-dry and smooth with a lingering fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and silky texture. Carbonation is moderate. Alcohol warmth is very light and well-integrated. Entirely smooth on the palate with no hop astringency or harshness.
