Manrússia Barrel Aged is an opulent, high-gravity interpretation of an American Stout, significantly amplified by its fourteen percent alcohol and extensive aging in brandy and cognac barrels. The sensory profile is dominated by a luxurious synergy of intense dark chocolate and cocoa, further enriched by a generous infusion of aromatic vanilla. Oak-driven notes of aged wood intertwine with the vinous, spirited warmth of the barrels, creating a profile reminiscent of decadent homemade desserts. Despite the heavy roast and aggressive spirit character, the beer maintains a smooth, creamy texture that underscores its indulgent, slow-sipping nature.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque; topped with a dense, persistent head of deep tan to light brown foam that leaves thick lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity aroma featuring strong roasted grain, bittersweet chocolate, and heavy cocoa. Prominent notes of vanilla and aged oak from the barrel program are complemented by a significant brandy and cognac spirit character. Low citrusy hop notes and moderate fruity esters are buried under the rich, dessert-like bouquet.

Taste. Initial impression is sweet and intensely rich, followed by moderate to high roasted flavors of coffee beans and dark chocolate. The barrel aging contributes distinct layers of vanilla, toasted wood, and a warming spirit complexity. Hop bitterness is medium-high but balanced by a low to medium malt sweetness and high alcohol presence. The finish is long and lingering with a smooth, velvety chocolate aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a notably creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A strong, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present without being harsh or fusel, providing a comforting, slow-sipping experience.
