Cervesa Espiga Aurora
Aurora is a vibrant West Coast IPA that pours a brilliant golden hue, celebrating Espiga's eleventh anniversary with a bold hop profile. The aromatic intensity is driven by a complex blend of Zappa, Mosaic, Centennial, and Citra hops, delivering a bouquet of fresh citrus, tropical fruit, and distinct herbal notes. On the palate, the clean, grainy malt provides a subtle foundation for the assertive hop flavors and a firm, crisp bitterness. This medium-light bodied American IPA finishes dry and refreshing, with the 7% alcohol providing a gentle, well-integrated warmth that complements its lively carbonation and festive character.
Appearance. Brilliant golden color (approx. 7 SRM). Large, white, persistent head with fine lacing. Excellent clarity.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring layers of grapefruit and lemon peel from Citra and Centennial, backed by the tropical fruit and berry notes of Mosaic. Zappa adds a unique herbal and spicy complexity. Low, clean, grainy-sweet malt presence with a neutral fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial hop-forward impression of citrus and resin. Moderate-high bitterness provides a clean, sharp edge that balances the light cracker-like malt. Flavors of mango and peach from the Mosaic hops lead to a very dry, hoppy finish with a lingering, crisp bitterness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a crisp, smooth texture. High carbonation. A light, smooth alcohol warmth is present but remains well-integrated without any harshness or astringency.
