Dasein is a masterfully executed German Pils that captures the essence of tradition through a laborious double decoction mash. This process yields a profound grainy-sweet malt depth, reminiscent of toasted crackers and fresh dough, which provides a sturdy foundation for the prominent Hallertau hops. The aroma is intensely herbal and floral, leading into a palate defined by a crisp, biting bitterness and a bone-dry finish. Appearance. Brilliant straw to light gold color (2-3 SRM). Topped by a large, creamy, persistent white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderately high herbal and spicy hop intensity from Hallertau hops. Beneath the hop profile lies a medium-low grainy, doughy, and slightly toasted cracker malt character. Clean fermentation with no esters or diacetyl.
Taste. Initial crisp bitterness is immediately met by grainy, sweet Pilsner malt flavors. Hallertau hops provide a distinct herbal and floral mid-palate. The balance is decidedly bitter, finishing very dry and clean with a lingering herbal hop note and a touch of minerality.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation that creates a stinging, refreshing, crispy sensation. Smooth yet firm with a clean, snappy finish and no alcohol warmth.
