This Carajillo Stout is a bold, sensory-rich interpretation of an American Stout, elevated by the aromatic complexity of a classic carajillo cocktail. It pours a deep, opaque black with an inviting tan head. The aroma is high-intensity, dominated by freshly roasted coffee beans and the signature vanilla and botanical spice of Licor 43. On the palate, a foundation of dark chocolate and roasted malts balances a firm bitterness, while the carajillo influence introduces a smooth, liqueur-like sweetness and hints of orange zest. The 8% ABV provides a well-integrated warmth that complements the velvety, full-bodied mouthfeel, finishing with a clean, lingering espresso-like character.
Appearance. Jet black (40+ SRM) and completely opaque. Produces a thick, persistent, light-tan head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity featuring strong roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Prominent adjunct notes of vanilla, cinnamon, and a touch of citrus peel from the carajillo influence. Low resinous hop character and a clean, smooth alcohol presence.
Taste. Initial flavors of bittersweet espresso and cocoa. Mid-palate presents rich roasted malt sweetness and vanilla-forward botanical notes. Firm bitterness (approx. 50-60 IBU) provides a clean counterpoint to the liqueur-like sweetness. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, smooth roasted grain and spice aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, velvety texture. Moderate-high carbonation. Noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth without being hot or fusel. Low roast-derived astringency.
