Distorted Bliss is a modern California Style Pilsner that reimagines the traditional German Pils through a contemporary lens. Utilizing premium Italian pilsner malt as a base, this lager presents a refined profile of honey-drizzled white wheat crackers. The distinctive dry-hop addition of Strata, Mosaic, and Talus elevates the aromatic experience, offering nuanced layers of light tropical fruit, dried melon, and mango reminiscent of whole cluster Chenin Blanc. This sessionable lager balances its crisp, clean fermentation with a vibrant, modern hop bitterness, resulting in a sophisticated and refreshing drinking experience that bridges old-world structure with new-world aromatics.
Appearance. Straw to deep yellow (3 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a creamy, long-lasting white head and excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderately high intensity. Forward hop character of light tropical fruit, dried mango, and vinous Chenin Blanc. Low grainy-sweet malt with a light honey and toasted cracker quality. Clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial malt flavors of honey and white wheat cracker are quickly overcome by hop flavors of melon and mango. Medium to high bitterness that is crisp and firm. Finishes very dry and clean with a lingering touch of tropical fruit and cracker.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body. High carbonation providing a refreshing snap. No astringency; clean and crisp without being harsh.
