Celestial Beerworks Perception
American IPA 7 º
Perception is a bright and assertive American IPA that leans into the classic West Coast profile. The sensory experience is defined by a bold interplay of Centennial and Comet hops, delivering a sharp grapefruit punch and deep resinous pine. Citra Cryo amplifies the citrus intensity, adding layers of fresh orange zest and a touch of tropical brightness. A clean, lean malt backbone provides just enough support without distracting from the hop-forward balance. It finishes remarkably dry and crisp, inviting another sip while leaving a lingering, clean bitterness that highlights its fresh, hop-centric construction.
Appearance. Deep gold (approx. 7 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a medium-sized, persistent white head that leaves intricate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of resinous pine, ruby red grapefruit, and a hint of dankness. Low, clean, grainy-sweet malt supports the hops. Fermentation is very clean with negligible esters.
Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward with flavors of pithy grapefruit and fresh pine needles. The malt flavor is low and crackery, allowing the medium-high bitterness to dominate. The finish is very dry and crisp with a lingering, clean hop bitterness and citrus zest aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, crisp texture. Medium-high carbonation provides a refreshing bite. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present at 7% ABV.
