Memory Burn is a vibrant Double IPA that showcases an explosive tropical profile driven by a heavy-handed blend of El Dorado, Azacca, and Citra hops. The sensory experience is defined by an intense aroma of peach rings and Caribbean painkiller cocktails, leading into a palate saturated with concentrated pineapple juice and overripe tropical fruits. While it maintains the bold strength of its style, the malt presence remains supportive and clean, allowing the hop-derived sugar-encrusted gummy notes to take center stage. This brew balances its sharp, punchy character with a smooth, well-integrated warmth and a lingering, citrus-heavy finish.
Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper (6–14 SRM). Features a significant, opaque haze consistent with a modern double hazy interpretation. Topped by a dense, persistent white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Intense and multifaceted hop-forward bouquet. Dominant notes of sweet peach rings, tropical pineapple, and citrus zest from the Citra and Azacca hops. Underlying hints of stone fruit and cream, reminiscent of a tropical cocktail. Low, neutral grainy malt in the background with a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. High-intensity hop flavors mirroring the aroma, specifically overripe mango, pineapple concentrate, and El Dorado-driven stone fruit. Initial impression is punchy and fruity, evolving into a flavor reminiscent of sugar-encrusted gummy candies. Bitterness is firm and moderately high, providing a necessary counterpoint to the fruit sweetness. Finishes medium-dry with a long, resinous, and citrusy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, almost creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate to medium-high. Features a noticeable but well-restrained alcohol warmth appropriate for its 8.5% strength. No harshness or hop-derived astringency.
