Celestial Beerworks Chat Room is a modern West Coast Pilsner that bridges the gap between a classic German Pils and a vibrant American IPA. A lean base of Pilsner malt provides a crisp, cracker-like foundation, allowing a heavy hopping of Citra, Strata, and El Dorado to take center stage. The aromatic profile is punchy and fruit-forward, led by bright notes of clementine and succulent cantaloupe. On the palate, the delicate lager fermentation ensures a clean, refreshing experience, while the bold American hops deliver a juicy complexity and a firm, pleasant bitterness. It finishes remarkably dry, highlighting the sharp, refreshing character of a well-crafted lager.
Appearance. Straw to deep yellow (SRM 3), brilliant clarity, with a thick, creamy, long-lasting white head that leaves consistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring punchy clementine, cantaloupe, and tropical fruit notes. Supported by a low, grainy-sweet and cracker-like malt character. Clean fermentation profile with no yeast-derived esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a crisp, grainy malt sweetness that is quickly overtaken by vibrant citrus and melon hop flavors. Firm medium-high bitterness provides a sharp counterpoint to the lean malt. The finish is very dry and clean with a lingering, pleasant hop snap and light toasted cracker notes in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation, creating a crisp and snappy texture. No perceived alcohol warmth. Refreshing and light on the palate without any harsh astringency.
