Casuar Alba is a vibrant and refreshing Specialty IPA that harmoniously blends the zesty, citrus-forward punch of an American IPA with the delicate, bready foundations of a Belgian Witbier. The sensory profile is defined by an assertive hop presence, delivering layers of grapefruit and lemon peel that are softened by a creamy, wheat-driven malt backbone. This fusion results in a bright, aromatic experience where hop-derived tropical notes meet the subtle spice of Belgian-style fermentation. It finishes crisp and dry, offering high drinkability with a lingering citrus zest that emphasizes its refreshing character.
Appearance. Pale to deep gold (4-7 SRM). Features a significant, persistent white head with fine bubbles and dense lacing. Typically displays a noticeable haze due to the high wheat content and lack of filtration.
Aroma. High intensity aroma featuring prominent citrus, grapefruit, and orange zest hop characteristics. Supporting these are moderate bready, grain-like wheat notes and a light, peppery yeast phenolic character typical of Belgian-style white ales.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of citrusy hop flavor followed by a smooth, bready malt sweetness. Hop bitterness is firm and moderate-high but lacks harshness, balanced by the softening effect of the wheat. Finishes very dry and clean with a refreshing, citrusy aftertaste and minimal esters.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. High carbonation provides a crisp, effervescent mouthfeel that enhances the beer's refreshing qualities. Very low alcohol warmth.
