This Wild Specialty Beer, a collaboration with Bruery Terreux, showcases a base of sour blond ale aged for sixteen months in oak barrels. The profile is defined by a vivid addition of whole Northwest-grown marionberries and Meyer lemon zest, resulting in a complex sensory journey. Aromatics lead with a distinct blackberry pastry sweetness and fresh citrus, underpinned by an unusual yet enticing hint of spruce tips. On the palate, a lively acidity cuts through the deep berry character, finishing remarkably dry. The extended wood aging integrates subtle oak tannins, balancing the bright fruit and citrus zest for a sophisticated, multifaceted wild ale experience.

Appearance. Deep purple to dark ruby with a pinkish-white head of moderate to low retention; slight haze is present from the significant fruit addition and wild yeast character.

Aroma. High intensity aromatics of jammy marionberries and floral Meyer lemon zest. Prominent lactic acidity and subtle funk (earthy, leathery) are balanced by a bready malt character and a distinct, resinous note of spruce tips. No hop aroma; light toasted oak and vanilla from extended aging.

Taste. Initial impression is sharply acidic and fruit-forward. Deep marionberry flavors provide a rich berry character without residual sugar, while the Meyer lemon zest adds a bright, citrusy punch. The finish is very dry with lingering notes of blackberry pastry and a light resinous spruce character. Bitterness is very low; fermentation is clean but distinctly sour with light oak tannins.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high, effervescent carbonation. A noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth is present. Light astringency from the fruit skins and oak aging enhances the dry, crisp finish.
