Space Cake is a decadent Hazy IPA that pushes the boundaries of the style with a milkshake-inspired profile. Triple dry-hopping with Citra delivers a vibrant explosion of mango, passion fruit, and bright lime zest. This hop intensity is softened by the addition of milk sugar and oats, creating a plush, pillowy texture. Subtle, dessert-like layers of aromatic vanilla and earthy cocoa nibs emerge on the finish, providing a sophisticated counterpoint to the tropical fruit. The result is a complex, opaque ale that balances the refreshing qualities of an IPA with the indulgent, smooth character of a confectionary treat.

Appearance. Straw to light gold (4-6 SRM); opaque with a distinct hazy shine. Pours with a thick, meringue-like white head that shows high retention and leaves dense lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by Citra-derived notes of grapefruit, lime, and tropical pineapple. A sweet, creamy vanilla layer is immediately present, supported by a faint, earthy cocoa undertone. Background malt is neutral and bready with no toasted character.

Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit and citrus from the Citra hops. The mid-palate reveals a smooth, sweet richness from the milk sugar, intertwined with floral vanilla and a hint of dark chocolate. Bitterness is low to moderate and never harsh, balanced by a soft, off-dry finish that lingers with fruit and cream flavors.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably smooth and creamy texture due to the addition of oats and lactose. Carbonation is moderate. No astringency or harshness is present, with a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
